Children’s Services

Story Hour

Story Hour takes place every Thursday afternoon from 4pm – 5pm during the school year, with a special Movie Night every month. All children ages 3 years – 4th grade are invited to join our librarians for this hour of stories, crafts, and games.

*Please note that Story Hour will be cancelled if school is out for inclement weather, holidays, Parent-Teacher conferences, etc.

Movie Night

Once a month, all children ages 3 years – 4th grade are invited to join us for a special showing of a family-friendly movie. This movie will replace one of our regular Story Hour time slots and will be shown from 4pm – 5:30pm on the selected Thursday afternoon.

Accelerated Reader Points

The library places Accelerated Reader point information in each qualifying book in our Children’s collection. This information can be used to ensure that children are reading books which are appropriate to their reading level to avoid frustration and foster a love of reading.

*To learn more about how we label our books, head over to our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Summer Reading Program

The library offers a Summer Reading Program to help combat the summer slide by encouraging children to read. The program offers children access to the latest books as well as fun games and crafts.
